Role Overview:
As a Telecommunications Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing telecommunications equipment and systems across the railway network in Saudi Arabia. Your role is vital to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all telecom systems, directly contributing to the overall safety and performance of the railway.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance: Lead a team responsible for routine inspections and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform both planned and reactive maintenance on various telecoms equipment, including radios, telephone systems, fiber optic systems, public address systems, and SCADA systems.
Fault-Finding: Diagnose and resolve faults in telecoms systems, ensuring minimal disruption to railway operations.
Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspections of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, faults, and repairs. Update asset management systems as necessary.
Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, ensuring all work complies with applicable safety and quality standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and share technical expertise.
Annual Planning: Develop and agree on annual maintenance, inspection, and testing programs, including resource allocation.
Asset Management: Identify and propose asset renewals.
Incident Investigation: Conduct investigations and report on accidents or incidents.
Safety Oversight: Execute a program of safety tours, staff surveillance, and checks on work quality and asset condition.
Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Degree or HNC/HND in an engineering-related discipline, or equivalent experience in Rail Engineering at a similar level.
Extensive engineering experience, particularly in telecoms renewals and enhancements.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of telecommunications technology.
Familiarity with technical, safety, and performance standards related to telecoms engineering.
Proven ability to lead engineering activities within a business environment.
Experience in integrating complex engineering systems.
Strong IT background with experience managing IT-related projects.
Ability to drive change and implement improvements.
Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
